This is Solkatz Pretty Boy Floid, a red white &
blue Maine Coon cat. I've lost track of him so don't know if there are any new
theories about his genetic makeup but when I saw him at a cat show a
few years ago, the opinion among the genetics mavens I knew was that he
was a chimera, having two sets of DNA- which was the story on a recent
episode of the TV show, CSI: CRIME SCENE
INVESTIGATION.<g>
A cat shouldn't ever be red white & blue,
especially not a fertile male. Red white and black male cats exist but they are
rare and usually sterile.
