variegata, some standards marked purple

I met a historic iris today, blooming away in a big clump in Juniper Valley
Park in Queens, NYC. Falls were violet; standards a soft, translucent
yellow that seemed to float upward from the falls. And some of the
standards on some of the flowers were marked with the fall color, as if the
painter had used an inch-wide brush to apply violet to the falls, then
lifted it carelessly and let it leave paint on the standards. A quick look
at the variegatas at the Historic Iris Preservation Society, combined with
the description at Argyle Acres, suggests 'Loreley" as the closest
match. Are there other bearded iris with splashes of fall color on the
standards? It didn't resemble "broken color" at all.

Thanks,
Dawn
