What Again isn't supposed to have those broken color markings in it, 
but a number of irises express such markings in my climate.  Dorothy 
Willott was once horrified by a pic I posted of Alpine Lake which was 
riddled with color breaks that I didn't realize weren't supposed to be 
there.

MN's typically cool temps during MDB and SDB stalk development seems to 
intensify anthocyanin pigments in most irises--one of the few 
advantages to growing irises in the northland.
