RE: Good or Bad Insect -

Hi, Linda,

You have a praying mantis there.  They are very good bugs.  When they gather their fore legs up under their chin, they aren’t praying, they are waiting to pounce on another bug for dinner.

Spiders don’t make holes in plants, but cut worms do, and that can destroy iris stalks.

Found this while inspecting "High Five".  The top bud was really small, then discovered tiny hole just underneath.

Thought it was a spider damage, then this got on my arm. Not sure if it was after the spider, or if it is what did the damage?? Anyone know or have this problem of a tiny hole causing the bud to be very small.  It bloomed anyway.
