This is one of the regal beauties of the wild iris species, I. hoogiana
alba. I last grew it 30 years ago but lost it about 10 years ago.
Last year it was offered in a European catalog, and I ordered it once
again. Fortunately, it bloomed this spring. It can only be described
as "regal and pristine" (my words). The flower was just opening.
