RE: HYB:Surprises

Congratulations, Betty.  If you didn’t find another good seedling all season (I’m sure this won’t be true) 02 should be enough to make you happy.  I love it, envy those colors.  I hope it is a rebloomer.  The others are nice too, but that one is special.

Everything looks nasty here. Rain, rain, rain. So I go into the
garden looking for interesting happenings to report. Any
encouragement.

Story:

1) Cross: Chinese New Year x Theme Master.

This gave several very interesting seedlings. My favorites are a
yellow/plum and two that are pale blue over royal blue. Almost
amoenas. My son liked the plum colored one. (I would have trashed
it.-not my color) I saved it and a bee pod which set on it-20B6.
Planted 7 seedlings from this bee pod. Can't even remember why. There
were at least a dozen bee pods that year that didn't get planted.

Here are three of the resulting seedlings.

20B6-01 (I've posted this before but this bloom is recent and weather
beaten and worn. Great branching & bud count. Now crossed with the
mahogany hafted one from yesterday. Cross your fingers.
20B6-02- is this pink? Or that deceptive lavender?
20B6-03-This one is really sad & beat up. I'll line it out and give it
a chance to look better but I love the colors.
