Re: Hyb:My Birthday Surprise-Maiden bloom

Colleen  --  Nice colors and very good substance, obviously.  I hope it branches out for you in subsequent seasons.  I find that some, not all, of my fall maiden bloomers don't bloom the following spring, however, so it takes a while before I know just what I have.  Like yours, though, they're welcome whenever they first appear.  --  Griff

Subject: [iris-photos] Hyb:My Birthday Surprise-Maiden bloom

Hi

I love it when seedlings bloom for the first time in autumn/winter. Very good rebloom sign. This bloomed for the first time on my birthday. Has heaps of buds, double stalk. It has poor branching, but given that it is maiden bloom, in late autumn, I?m very much looking forward to seeing it?s spring bloom. Pollen parent is Firebeard, so that?s where the rebloom comes from, but much better form and substance. It had been out from several days in the rain when I took this.
