Now that we know for sure that HoM carries the ability to produce orange
seedlings, I hope somebody out in (what used to be till this year) iris
heaven will make some crosses on HoM using the very best formed, best
substanced, brilliantly pigmented oranges and send me the best of the
seedlings for trial, so we can move towards breeding some really strong
semi-modern reblooming oranges.

>From HoM, that first generation is pretty much guaranteed not to be up
to iris heaven quality, but it sure would be nice to have those genes...

Maybe one of Blyth's oranges?

Dang, one afternoon of rain and I'm already thinking of more work...65
this year, major surgery last summer, and acutely aware that tempus
fugit & limited iris generations left in my lifetime. Gotta stop making
these plans that take 15 yrs to accomplish!
