Well it was a long process to get it right...and I noticed
a couple of mistakes after I sent it.
First I used the lasso
selection tool with the smart edge option. Selected around the
main iris, once this was done right click and completed the selection.
Copied the selection and pasted as a new layer. X'd off this
layer in the layer palette then went back to the main image.
Deleted the selection on this layer...then used the clone tool to cover
up any remaining purple edges. Then went back to the flower only
layer and colorized it and then using the mover tool...moved it back
into place in the main image. Then I merged all layers once I was happy
with it. Once this was done I repeated the process with the
partial flower pieces at the bottom of the photo.
This probably took me
about 45 minutes too. This method can be done in PSP 7 as well as
PSP 8, although I do think the lasso tool works better in version
8.
