Even though it has a hard time to stand strait,
STARSHIP is a wonderful RE:
you can count on it every year and
it blooms early enough not to be
hurt by the frost
but it's a difficult number for
breeding!
I don't know how Monty Byers managed to
pollinate Scented Bubbles and get Monty's sweet blues with
it.
I've pollinated 27 irises with
it's pollen; result: nul
I've been luckier ( think it was luck, and a lot of
patience!) with STARSHIP as a pod parent:
out of 41 dabbings, i got 4 pods: with Gladys
Austin / Plum-Plum / Cerf-Volant / What Again.
They should bloom next spring...fingers
