Billy  --  20B2 is 21" tall.  The cross is LUMALITE x BLAZING SUNRISE.  20A9's markings are more pronounced on film than in the garden, curiously.  But its vigor --  3 reblooms during the past 2 months  --  has to earn it a place in the breeding program.  --  Griff

Well, I said that ROTUNDA, HAUNTING and ROSALIE FIGGE would have to take their chances with the hard freeze (26 above) coming tonight, but as I checked the garden, I found more things making a valiant effort.  SDB 20A9 bloomed again today -- its 3d rebloom in the last 6 weeks.  SDB 20B2 has a stalk up, and the stalk of HAUNTING that was clipped off by a falling branch has been replaced by another shooting up in its place.  So, they all get as much of a reprieve as I can give them  --  yes, the old sweat-sock trick.  Whether it will work, I don't know, but it's worth a try, since several days of warmup are forecast if we can get by tonight.  (Wonder if the neighbors will think this is a gathering of little garden ghosts left over from Halloween?) This will be 20B2's first rebloom, if it makes it.  --  Griff
