Subject: [iris-photos] OT: Quiz
At the Fredericksburg Area Iris Societyâs harvest dinner on Saturday, there were about 17 irises on display brought in by various members. As soon as I entered the hall, one stalk stood out -- a large-flowered red. When I saw its identity, I was amazed. Iâve grown this flower myself and never saw it this fine. The falls of the top bloom are 7â across. I asked Doug Chyz, who had brought it, if I could glean some pollen. He said, âTake the stalkâ. So, here it is (attached). Itâs not a glamour photo -- the falls have been removed from a spent bloom and the top bloom is marred from travel, but I just wanted to present it as an example of what this cultivar can look like. Anyone guess its name? -- Griff
