Mike,
Our school just bought a Sony Mavica. Good price, good quality, easy to use.
It uses floppy disks you can pop right into the computer. Uses jpeg format.
It also does 30 second mpeg movies. They are a bit too slow but for a still
camera it is nice to have that feature. A full charge of the battery gives
you approx. 90 minutes use time. I am impressed as are most people who have
seen me use it.
