Neil, I don't remember this having a raised area. I believe it is just the effect of the center line. I'll check closely this spring.
This has been growing at my friends house. I brought it home this late spring and lined out something like 25 rhizomes. I'm looking forward to seeing it bloom 'in mass' this coming spring.
Rock Star is one of the grandparents, and RS has a horn. (according to the R & I ) I don't breed for SA, but I have a friend that does. He's anxious to get his hands on this one. He is breeding plicatas and likes the rich color and the form.
