Re: old iris bulbs

My neighbor bought some rhizomes a few years ago at WalMart. At the end of the next summer she discovered that she had never planted them and gave them to me. I threw them in the ground in an out of the way spot because I didn't hold much hope for them. One of them bloomed in the second season, I think the other will bloom next year. If your rhizomes are still firm, they will probably grow given a chance. You might have to wait a while for them. If they are something you really like and want to keep or if you just have plenty of time to wait, then plant them and see what happens.

Subject: [iris-photos] old iris bulbs

Hello,  I split up some iris' last summer (2003) and recently found a bag of the
remains of them in the garage this past weekend.  Do older bulbs have the
possibility of  being revived?  or are they all dead and gone?

thanks
