Hi Mike
Actually it seems to be cultivar specific. You and George seem
to have bred some great bug magnets. Brides Blush, Silver City and Holy Fire (3
of the worst) all bloom mid season and get munched. Other whites blooming at the
same time never get touched. I have a lovely pink
dwarf (Coral Point x Fling, yes it does flower at dwarf
height) which is getting munched to death but a few feet away nothing is
touching the Cache of Gold or Mighty Mouse and Ahwahnee Princess only gets
slightly munched.
