Betty, you are right, colours can vary.
 
Still, Round up might have made the edges paler, as well as give longer falls.
 
 
I have had some flowers completely unrecognizable because of round up, that's why i just didn't think of that, the flower didn't look monstrous...
So, i've made a fool of myself, that will calm down my ego!

Loic, I've not seen this one, but it looks much as I'd expect for the
cross. I'd definitely accept that it's a VIOLET MIRACLE child. The
color can vary so much from place to place and for a variety of
reasons. The fact that it's fall blooming the second year indicates
it's possible it's right. Check it again in the spring.

I did grow Her Royal Highness and even used it in breedling.

That i should i kill it with Round up because it is not pretty,

or you think it looks like that because it got Round up on?

 

There was no Round up on it, it is an iris i got from Sutton's iris
last year, labelled His Royal Highness.

 

First bloom fo me.
