That is an awesome line of question. My main interest is identification and verification of older irises. Hard enough as it is but if there were analytical things we could do to iris photos to help I love to know more about them. What does "f.lux" software stand for? I assume it a buyable product?

I have f.lux software installed on my computer so that blue tones are
'turned off' at night on my monitor.

It's been interesting viewing photos of irises with and without the blue
tones displayed.

For example, removing blue tones from the photo of Jazz Band (iris twiki
photos) shifts the ground color from yellow to orange, has little effect
on the fall band intensity of color, although it does shift it more
towards red instead of brown.

Is this kind of cyber 'pigment removal' of any use in identifying
presence/absence of actual pigments?
