I've probably got it wrong, but I thought that the umbrata pattern had a rim the same color as the standards?  Linda Mann, what say ye?  I think your term is going to stick, so your definition is needed again.

Very good, this is what we were calling the umbrata pattern.
 
Elaborate please. Is there a pattern characteristic beyond the rim that differentiates an umbrata pattern? The pun is not intended.
