Re: REB: umbrata seedling ("Cloud Shadows")


Speaking of umbrata rebloomers, this one (IMMORTALITY X CELEBRATION
SONG) only has color layered on the surface of the falls. I just
checked.  The back layer of the falls is not white, it's transparent!

?

Neil, is this what you would expect?  Or is something (a layer of
cells?) missing?  Looking at the back of the petal, it definitely looks
like the color is only on the upper surface.

It's not very obvious in this photo, but there is a near white rim
around the falls.  The surface looks like it has a fairly uniform layer
of pinkish lavender with darker lavender unevenly washed over it, so the
edges of the rim are not smooth.
