I really enjoy digging my two year iris beds because there is no better way of evaluating the health and vigor of the different varieties than to see the kind and number of rhizomes they have produced. I feel that I spend too much time complaining about those that don’t do well for me. Here are two of my favorites that have done magnificently.

Last night I dug Barbara My Love and Broken Dreams. BYL yielded 24 big healthy rhizomes with good big fans. BD yielded 18. These are two that are as vigorous as they are beautiful.
