Maisie Lowe is indeed an oldie,
J. L. Gibson, 1930. None of
the pre-1950 iris in irisregister
have descriptions.

A 1939 catalog description on the HIPS web site
is: "It is a brilliant blue bi-color with
standards of soft blue and velvety falls of
rich pansy-violet, bordered the color of the standards."
However they must have had rather liberal ideas
of what constituted blue back then, as the
picture on the HIPS site shows a rather
purple-looking iris :-)
