Louisiana iris seed germination

Now I have a bunch of iris seeds to start, I need tips on germinating 
the LA irises. Never had much luck with them but this year I am 
determined to have success. I have searched the archives but no luck 
there.

Adrienne
USDA Zone 4, patches of snow still on the ground, hard freeze last 
night.
