Jim I would love to see your missouriensis cross. One of the sad things is that people often try an unsual cross, but are not impressed and stop there. When it comes to unusual hybrids, often the most exciting results come in the second or third generation.

Oh, I believe I have a hybrid of the I missouriensis and a siberian
iris. If anyone is interested I could look up the photo.
