	Hello Joan, I bet you don't remember meeting me at the American Iris  
Society Convention in Dallas, Texas. Of course it's been a while.

	As to the lactea. It's a bit more lavender and a bit less blue,  
still a very nice flower. And they say cameras don't lie! The seeds  
were a gift from the Royal Botanic Garden in Tehran, Iran some years  
ago. They were labeled as another species and lactea in not native  
there. Wish I could find out more but relations between our countries  
are a tad strained at the moment. There are many wonderful bulbous  
and rhizomatous iris in Iran. Maybe they will still be there for  
future gardeners to re-discover.
