Iris brandzae or Iris sintenisii ssp. brandzae ,take your split. A very narrow leaved species from Romania. Quite happy in full sun with sharp drainage. Faint scent and I have a keen sense of smell. Maybe it's better during the heat of the day! In person the narrow falls are spectacularly marked, a markedly different pattern on both the top and the bottom sides, the style arms cover up a lot of detail. I have only one clone and so far it has not set seed. It blooms much too early to cross with other spuria species. It does look cute in the photos, but, definitely a collectors plant. No real impact in the garden with flower height at only six to seven inches and foliage a tad taller. Difficult to keep weeded as the foliage of this iris does look like grass when not in flower.
