I've heard people say that Louisianas are thugs in the garden because
they spread too quickly. And that they prefer growing bearded irises
that stay put where they are planted.
Well, I finally tried some Iris prismatica. I placed it in my
pond... and... oh... my... goodness... has that beast spread!!! It
jumped the pot.... by sending stolons out every which way, which have
further increased via stolons creating a "network" of irises across a
portion of my pond. I have no idea if these free floating fans will
be able to bloom... but I sure hope so. At least then I'll know for
sure if this is Iris prismatica. I think it is.
