Iris verna & cristata

I visited Ken Wilson yesterday at his home in Kentucky. He's a big
contributor to the SIGNA seed exchange, and donates so many amazing
things. So I began corresponding with him a few months ago and he
invited me down to see some of them in bloom.

The weather was unseasonably hot, with temps reaching almost 90
degrees..... in April!?!? It was crazy, and it shortened the bloom
period for individual flowers, but fortunately there were so many
blooming that I got to see plenty anyway.

His property contains a lot of wild Iris cristata and Iris verna. I've
seen plenty of cristata in my life time, but not verna... so I was very
excited. We hiked for several hours, and saw lots and lots of blooms.
Here are some of the pics I took.
