I can't get my natives to persist either, but I haven't tried too hard to meet their needs. Haven't had luck with the South American yellow ones, but I guess I'd rather not accidentally introduce an invasive species, either. I'm going to make an effort to look for wild white forms this year, and as many of the eight Michigan species as I can find, especially the Great Lakes endemic S. strictum. I find them rather hard to key out - it requires a lot of measurements, and even the more obvious traits are variable to the point of overlap. They recommend keying a sample of the population, not just one plant. Sean Z Zone 6a SE Michigan
