Re: Iris virginica


 

I think the "spuria look" is partly due to the angle I photographed at it at. Here is a more mature flower from a higher angle. I think it now looks like a virginica. I have no idea what was planted near the parent, but a selfed seed is always a good possibility.

 I wonder what the âunknownâ is. It does resemble a Dutch Iris, but I think those two are too far apart genetically to allow a cross. I was almost thinking âSpuriaâ but I donât think those and Virginica would cross.
