Dennis,  Iris tectorum can tolerate some direct sun, but I am not sure how much. Last year I put some in full sun and it scorched during a span of time we didn't get our normal summer afternoon convection formation. Â It has done fine in a spot that gets direct sun from about 2:00 PM forward. Remember I am at 29 N Latitude. Across the Atlantic, that would be the same as southern Morocco. Across North America, that latitude would be equal to Hermosillo in Mexico.
