I stumbled across an old copy of the SIGNA bulletin from 1999.  Page 3286 
mentions a possible new species or at least subspecies of Iris attica that 
has n=32 instead of n=16.  Has there been any new news since then?  I don't 
remember hearing anything more about it...   Nigel Service & Harald Mathes 
were apparently working on it.
