The pods are 12 to 15 mm long
with around 10 to 20 seeds.
These were collected at my camper
in Adams county. On my home page is a photo of them around a pine tree. I
started with 6 fans around one tree 13 years ago. I now have them around three
trees. Something to see in full bloom. I have given hundreds away. I fertilize
once a year with 12-12-12 in the spring. They get extra water once in a while.
Never dug just thinned.
At home they are planted between
two houses 30 feet apart, very little wind, very few pods. One tree at the
camper is in the open, lots of wind, lots of pods. A camper blocks the wind on
the other two trees. Fewer pods, almost none on downwind side. In the past
I have had lots of pods all the way around the tree. Maybe I had more wind those
years.
Maybe thousands more than you
Dennis. :-)
