Mark: What I can suggest is what has worked for me in the past. Take a mesh bag with the smallest mesh opening that you can find and tie it around the pod with a plant tie or fine string. This should save all the seeds should the pod break open before you can get to it.

     Since a seedpod on Neomarica ejects the seeds when it starts to split open, is there a good way to tell for sure when a pod is ready to harvest before this happens?
