i'm not sure the terminology but the top structure of the style arms on Iris tridentata are extemely reflexed, recurved, long, and ornate. The style arms in the photo look very short & simple.

I'm referring to the things I'm pinching in the attached photo of I. tridentata.

So my guess is Rodney's photo is I. setosa (or a hybrid of I. setosa, like versitosa?).
