Re: Seed list online


I think having the list online or emailed to us would help even
things out. It would give people two chances of getting the list in
time to receive some of the seeds in short supply. The standard
reason for not emailing is that it would not be fair to those not
online. However, what about those whose postal mail does not arrive
when expected?

This year I received my Alpine Garden Society seedlist exactly one
month after it was airmailed. My seeds arrived two days after my
list, as I had managed to borrow a seedlist from a friend. Even so,
I did not get many of my first choices, and as a seed donor, I
should have.

An airmail letter containing trillium seeds, which require prompt
sowing, took six weeks to come here from the U.S. It had not spent
any time being inspected or caught up in Customs - just delayed
somewhere in transit.
