Re: I'm Published!

Ah Jim:

What an attractive Iris pseudacorus photo! And what an excellent, clear-cut, textbook example of the ethical-legal obligation to make sure authors/photographers/musicians etc be given full credit for their creations - even if they do give permission to an entity to use the item (like after submission to a photo contest). Thanks for bring this to all our attention - and for your part in enhancing the the new AIS 'Basic Iris Culture' book.

Subject: [iris-species] I'm Published

Hey gang. I bought a copy of the new AIS 'Basic Iris Culture' 3rd Edition 2011. I thought it would make for light reading as I know most of this whether I practice it or not. I was reading 'Species Iris Culture' by Bob Pries on page 33. I thought the photo looked familiar and checked my files. It is a photo that I had submitted to the AIS Photo Contest in 2010 . What a surprise to see it in the Iris Culture booklet. And, no, it did not win, not even an Honorable Mention. There are no photo credits so I would never have known if I hadn't recognized the pic.
