RE: Deer resistant iris

HI,

The spring after I moved into this house I had one Iris ready to bloom for our local show and being new to Iris and showing I didn’t know I could pick it the night before.  I went out to get it the morning of the show to find a nice big bite gone from the top of the flower.  I threatened the deer for future and promised to get out my bow and arrow if they showed up in my yard again.

I will try to remember this and put some chicken wire over them when
they come up. I have to deer-proof everything I plant! I think that is
right that they will eat anything if they are hungry enough; it is my
experience that there is a "browsing height" and once that is passed
they leave it only.
