It fits the description of the flower and the area of collection is good for that specie.  My guess would be that it is I. clarkii.
 
However, to be more exact some measurements would be helpful such as height of flower and size of flower and some description of the foliage or a photo of the whole plant.

Several years ago a friend of mine collected some unknown iris seed pods in Bhutan in a mountain meadow. She grew the seedlings and gave me some of the resulting plants` seed pods (bee pods). I also grew the seedlings and now I wonder if this is iris clarkei?
