Hello there! Not many people here seem to grow those kinds of
irids. There are only two American irids that I can ever remember trying,
Alophia drummondii and Tigridia pavonia. During this past winter I
discovered all sorts of others and now I'm trying them from seed:
Chamelum frigidum
Hesperoxiphium peruvianum
Gelasine azurea
Eleutherine bulbosa
Gelasine elongata
Cypella laxa
Cypella osteniana
Cypella herbertii
Solemonelus pedunculatus
Neomarica gracilis
Alophia veracruzana
Most of these came from the Pacific Bulb Society which I just joined.
And I'm also trying to order a mature specimen of:
Rigidella orthantha
I'm also trying some Australian/Tasmanian irids from seed that seem
absolutely gorgeous:
Diplarrhena latifolia
Diplarrhena moraea
As for Cypella coelestis, you can get it from Plant Delights Nursery for
$11. http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/03735_2.html
