Jim, Ken Greg and Edmundas,
Thanks for your help. In a phone conversation with Jim Waddick, We think we have it narrowed down to Iris confusa. And after complaining that the spikes always blast...I have 2 good spikes on it!!!! Jim suggests that allowing it to get too chilled last fall may have caused the flower spike to abort. I will try more fertilizer. This plant has stems of 12 inches with the fans on top of it. It is a fast grower and does not take long to produce good fans. Now all I have to do is wait for the flowers!!!!
