I'm limited to what type of conditions I can grow anything in. Here, we have a combination of rotten granite, soil, and added compost (not much of that!) all in full sun. It doesn't hold water well but during the season, we water often enough that nothing dries out too much.

 

I've found that mine need to be divided every other year if I really want to keep a particular plant going, but they set seed so easily that I haven't worried much about doing that.
