SIGNA seed and wild iris

I just received my seeds from SIGNA and included was a surprising note
from Jim and Jim:

"This is a special note to members who have an address of interest.
There are a number of interesting Iris species that grow in your
geographical area. The Seed Exchange would love to get wild
collected seed donated to our program. Please consider making
a brief trip to collect seed from wild growing iris and donate them."

Perhaps this note was sent to everyone who ordered. However, my area
is not blessed with wild iris. I can collect Iris setosa seeds if I
go north to Alaska, and Iris tenax if I go south to Oregon (it
apparently also grows in Washington, but I have seen it only in
Oregon) .

We are taking our boat up to Alaska this summer. I wonder when setosa
seeds are ripe.
