I am almost afraid to give out this idea but I will do it and please do not think that i am trying to take anything away from SIGNA. If SIGNA would like to use the wiki for posting some articles I would be delighted to see them there. The advantage is that there are many ways that the articles can be linked to other artcles and information on the wiki and back to SIGNA. If you worry that this might diminish SIGNA in any way then forget I suggested it. But a few well chosen articles with the proper references to SIGNA might bring many people to SIGNA once the wiki is visible to the world. I fully intend to have a topic on the wiki called Seed Exchanges in which I list those that offer Iris Seed and I would provide the links to those societies. Some good points in both directions have been made, and like Bob Pries, I don't see we have to dispense with a hard copy, at least not right away. And, as Judy mentioned, there are voices involved that cannot be heard on this forum. I do think this will change over the next 10 years, but it cannot be ignored. A high-speed internet connection will be possible for most in the near future. Also, if one doesn't have/want one at home, internet cafés are all over the place and one can download there and take with. |
