Whoever writes it might want to glance over the discussion on monstrosities in Les Iris Cultivees. The original is a very odd little document, which reads as if it was ether the speaker's rough notes, or someone else's notes taken at the lecture, given May 1922, and the bit on doubling is the oddest part of it, but a translation of sorts may be found here. The bibliography could conceivably be of use.

It's has been suggested that SIGNA do an article on double flowered irises, species in particular, of course. SO ... I'm picking your collective brains for a list of doubles and photos if you have them. Obviously there are too many double (and triple) JIs to mention, but a double, species form would make a nice photo. 'Same goes for LAs!
