SIGNA SeedEx Postage
Dear SIGNA members and friends,
Yesterday the
US post office raised postage rates for every class of mail from a
First Class letter (from 45Â to 46Â) to foreign packages which include
SIGNA Seed Exchange. Our mailings were hit the worst. The 1 ounce rate
went from $3 to $6.55, an increase of about 120%. We just posted this
addition to the SIGNA Seed Exchange information page and want to share
with all Foreign members who have not yet placed their order:
"Although shipping has already begun, the US Postal Service has
increased International Package Service rates by more than 100%. All
shipments with a destination outside the United States must now pay $6
per shipment. This amount will be automatically calculated at the end
of your order. Thank you for your understanding. "
Since we had to
increase postage rates once this year, we kept this second increase to
a minimum. Once we have a better understanding of all the implications
of these new rates we will probably have to increase next year's rates
once again. Not much we can do about that, but we do appreciate your
understanding as we try to figure some way to get around this.
