I've thought about trying the Oryzalin method, but I don't feel that safe playing with chemicals either. The EPA says it's basically nontoxic to humans when ingested, but is a probable carcinogen when exposed chronically.

oh, and the daylily guy already wrote back.  he told me "nope", he doesn't mess with that stuff either.
