SV: Re: Birds eating Iris seeds

Hi Chuck,

I have never seen birds eating Iris seed.

I have many different kind of birds in my garden â I am feeding them year round, and registrating them too.

Med venlig hilsen / Kind regards

No, as in I cannot give you a citation off the top of my head, nor stop to look for one now, although I do have the impression I have read something along this line regarding I. foetidisssima, and the brightly colored seed coat is suggestive. I have never in this garden observed any interest in Iris seed pods or seeds by any bird, and that includes "native" Iris species.

Cordially,

AMW

I'm looking for information on possible distribution of iris by birds
consuming iris seeds. Anyone have information on this?
