Unfortunately there are no connections in the USA to the NCCPG. My goal has been to work on creating such links from the bottom up so to speak. Certainly the goals are consistent with the Historic section and i have been a life member since its founding. Other plant societies have also seen the need for reference collections and I predict sometime in the future thsi will all come together. One of the outgrowths of the NCCPG is a reference called the Hardy Plant Finder. This references sources for all hardy plants throughout England and has recently been expanded to the Continent of Europe. In the USA we have a very weak version that has been worked on by the Andersen Library, as I remember it is in Wisconsin. But compared to what the English and Europeans have accomplished The USA isn't even second rate. Even Australia has its own system of national collections. Unfortunaetly the USA botanical gardens have shown a disdain for working with enthusiast specialists. In England the national collections are spread among the Botanical gardens and great estates but also include individual enthuasiasts and even groups such as grade school classes. Unfortunately the American experience is not strong on cooperation.
