I believe i talked to the same person a couple of years ago and I let the ball drop. This would be a good place for such a list if they are committed to all types of Iris. Maybe we could work out some sort of joint appointment between the two groups so that there would be some communication to species enthusiasts of species collections. Although I have been a life member of HIPS since almost its creation I have to admit i don't read a lot of it since it is almost always focused on tall beardeds alone. If I am wrong than i am surprized there has been so little communication between HIPS and other groups. One would think if they were interested in all types of iris they would have a laison person designated to interact with the other sections.

Bob,
I was under the impression that HIPS had a listing of "holders" of historic
irises. Do you know who maintains their list? I asked because I conversed
with her about a similar system for species when she joined SIGNA. She was
willing to maintain the records. We didn't keep the conversation up and
I've forgotten who it was.
